Job summary

Dartmouth Health in Keene, NH is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess patients, develop treatment plans with the provider, and provide emergency care including intubation support, rapid responses, codes, and trauma response.

In the critical care setting you will initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, perform arterial sampling, IABP lines, and attend rounds. In the outpatient setting you will train in pulmonary function testing and rotate through the lab as needed.

Qualifications

• A.S. degree in Respiratory Care from an AHA-accredited program.
• CRT or RRT preferred.
• Current New Hampshire license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NRP within 1 year of hire.
• PALS preferred; EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop treatment plans with the provider.
• Provide emergency care including intubation support and rapid response participation.
• Attend codes and trauma events; participate in C-sections when needed.
• In critical care, initiate and manage mechanical ventilation and arterial sampling.
• Attend rounds, perform arterial puncture/lines, and conduct oximetry studies overnight.
• In outpatient settings, train in pulmonary function testing and rotate through the lab.

Education

Job description

Within the scope of practice, the respiratory therapist will assess patients and develop treatment plans in conjunction with the provider to address specific patient needs. Provide emergency care including assisting with or performing intubations, attending rapid responses/codes, attending C-sections and responding to traumas. In the critical care setting, you will attend multidisciplinary rounds, initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, perform arterial sampling including arterial puncture and arterial lines, conduct overnight oximetry studies, and assist with bronchoscopies. In the outpatient setting, you will be trained to perform pulmonary function testing and rotate through the lab as needed.

Requirements include:

• A.S. Degree in Respiratory Care from an AHA accredited program
• CRT (RRT preferred)
• Current New Hampshire license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP within 1 year of hire
• PALS preferred
• Experience in EPIC preferred
