Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner II to deliver specialized respiratory therapies and diagnostic services on the night shift in a tertiary care setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care with attention to age-specific needs; lead RCP duties may apply during shifts.

Current RCP license and NBRC credentials required; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications preferred; two

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current RRT from the NBRC or obtained within three months of hire.
• BLS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintained.
• PALS certification from AHA or ARC on hire and maintained or obtained within 60 days.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate preferred.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered.
• Assess, plan, implement, and document care with age/population-specific needs.
• May serve as Lead RCP, overseeing the section or department during a shift.
