Job summary

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Enid, OK.

The role focuses on providing compassionate, evidence-based cardiopulmonary care and accurate documentation in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. Responsibilities include data collection, administering therapies, timely therapy initiation, ventilatory management for all ages, and strict adherence to medication safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory program with at least an associate degree.
• Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional Letter (valid until Board meeting date listed)
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required and maintained
• BLS required
• ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire; annual recertification required
• SECURE training required within six (6) months of hire
• NRP preferred

Responsibilities

• As a Respiratory Therapist, assess patients and deliver evidence-based respiratory care, documenting care accurately.
• Support department operations and provide safe treatment for cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Obtain data for therapy via chart review and physical assessment
• Administer oxygen, aerosol, humidity therapies, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and related tests
• Ensure therapy starts are completed within one hour and respond to emergencies promptly
• Ventilatory management for adults, pediatrics, and neonates, including airway management
• Document patient status (HR, RR, SaO2, lung sounds, treatment efficacy) and notify changes
• Follow medication administration rights and use two patient identifiers
• Maintain and sanitize equipment and report any issues

What You'll Do

As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a vital role in assessing patients, delivering evidence-based respiratory care, and ensuring accurate documentation. You'll support departmental operations while providing safe, effective treatment to patients experiencing cardiopulmonary difficulties. Responsibilities include:

• Obtaining data pertinent to therapy through chart review and physical assessment


• Administering oxygen therapy, aerosol and humidity therapy, trach care and management, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, suctioning, bedside respiratory measurements, pulse oximetry, and EKGs


• Completing new therapy starts within one hour and responding promptly to emergency situations


• Functioning within the Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practitioner scope of practice


• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing equipment per SMRMC policy


• Routinely cleaning and assembling departmental equipment before end of shift and checking assigned areas for dirty equipment


• Providing complete and competent ventilatory management for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients, including treatments, airway management, and tracheal suctioning


• Documenting patient status and care provided, including heart rate, respiratory rate, SaO₂, lung sounds, treatment effectiveness, and any adverse reactions


• Adhering to the \"five rights\" of medication administration and using two patient identifiers


• Consistently documenting in iView

What We're Looking For:

Licensure / Certification / Registration
