Job summary

Highpoint Health Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our Nights, Full Time team. You will provide essential respiratory care and support to patients across the hospital.

As an RRT, you will assess and treat patients, collaborate with physicians to implement care plans, perform physiotherapy, monitor respiratory status, and educate patients on therapies. This role emphasizes compassionate care within a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in TN.
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examines patients with breathing-related conditions and conducts diagnostic testing.
• Consults with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient.
• Performs physiotherapy and other treatments and teaches patients to use medications.
• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer. Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.

How you'll contribute

What we're looking for

Key services include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, and a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit. The facility also features a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, five Operating Rooms, and two Endoscopy Suites. Diagnostic imaging services include MRI, CT, PET/CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, and X-ray. The hospital's 13-bay Emergency Department sees more than 15,000 patient visits annually.

Highpoint Health - Sewanee with Ascension Saint Thomas, located on the campus of the University of the South, is a 41-bed facility offering 21 general acute care beds and 20 skilled nursing beds. It includes a 4-bay Emergency Department that treats more than 5,000 patients each year.
