Job summary

Trinity Health in Michigan is seeking a Part-time Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, including ventilator care, aerosolized medication delivery, and arterial blood gas collection. The role includes bedside assessments and collaboration with physicians and staff.

The position requires Michigan licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC registration, and ability to perform diagnostic studies across age groups. BLS certification is required; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensure by the State of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• If Certified Respiratory Therapist(CRT), then obtain RRT within 6 months of employment.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of Respiratory Care including diagnostics.
• Current Certification in Basic Life Support, prefer to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support as well.

Responsibilities

• Perform all respiratory and cardiac diagnostic studies on patients of all ages.
• Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
• Disinfect and sterilize equipment.
• Familiar with all respiratory therapeutics and their actions, expected results and possible side effects.

Position Purpose:

Providingrespiratorycare,including, but not limited to, ventilator care, aerosolized medication delivery, mucous mobilization, resuscitation, acquisition of arterial blood gases,educationand supervision of respiratory therapy students.Registered RespiratoryTherapistare also responsible for performance of bedside assessments andproviding assistance tophysicians and other healthcare providers with questionsregardingrespiratory care.Performance of diagnostic procedures related to respiratory care including EKG acquisition and pulmonary function determinations.

What theRegistered Respiratory TherapistWillDo:

• Familiarwith all respiratory therapeutics and their actions, expectedresultsandpossible sideeffects.

• Responsibleforcomplying withall policies including those dealing with incomplete orders, medication of therapy, adverse reactions, automatic stop orders, infectioncontrol, patientrestraintsand safety regulations.

• Perform all respiratory and cardiac diagnostic studies on patients of all ages.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Licensure by the State of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist.
