Job summary

MGHP is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive care during a 7p–7a night shift. The role includes ventilatory support, aerosolized medications, and arterial blood gas collection, with responsibilities spanning bedside assessment and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications include NBRC registration and Michigan licensure; BLS is required, ACLS preferred. The position entails rotation through weekends and holidays, with ongoing supervision of RT students.

Qualifications

• NBRC-registered and licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in Michigan.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Knowledge of respiratory diagnostics and bedside procedures.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred; CRT must obtain RRT within 6 months.
• AE shift: night rotation; 12-hour shifts and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care including ventilatory support and aerosolized meds.
• Perform bedside assessments and assist physicians with questions.
• Acquire arterial blood gases and conduct pulmonary function testing.
• Educate and supervise respiratory therapy students during shifts.
• Support diagnostic procedures such as EKGs when indicated.

Employment Type:Full timeShift:12 Hour Night ShiftDescription:Provide respiratory care to the sick and injured who present at MGHP for care. This will include but not be limited to ventilatory care, aerosolized medication delivery, mucous mobilization, resuscitation, acquisition of arterial blood gases, education and supervision of respiratory therapy students. They are also responsible for performance of bedside assessments and providing assistance to physicians and other healthcare providers with questions regarding respiratory care. Performance of diagnostic procedures related to respiratory care including EKG acquisition and pulmonary function determinations

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Registration by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Licensure by the State of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of Respiratory Care including diagnostics
• Current Certification in Basic Life Support, prefer to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support as well

36 hrs per week, 7p-7a, every other weekend, rotating holidays.

Registered Respiratory Therapist preferred. If CRT, then obtain RRT within 6 months of employment.
