Job summary

Trinity Health in Muskegon, MI seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a full-time, 36-hour week Day Shift to provide ventilatory care, aerosolized medication delivery, ABG acquisition, and education of students, with bedside assessments and physician support. MI licensure and NBRC registration required; BLS on file (ACLS preferred).

Qualifications

• Licensure by the State of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• If Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), then obtain RRT within 6 months of employment.
• Current Certification in Basic Life Support, prefer to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support as well.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of Respiratory Care including diagnostics.

This will include but not be limited to ventilatory care, aerosolized medication delivery, mucous mobilization, resuscitation, acquisition of arterial blood gases, education and supervision of respiratory therapy students. They are also responsible for performance of bedside assessments and providing assistance to physicians and other healthcare providers with questions regarding respiratory care. Performance of diagnostic procedures elated to respiratory care including EKG acquisition and pulmonary function determinations.

Position Purpose:

Provid ing respiratory care , includ ing , but not limited to, ventilator care, aerosolized medication delivery, mucous mobilization, resuscitation, acquisition of arterial blood gases, education and supervision of respiratory therapy students. Registered Respiratory Therapist are also responsible for performance of bedside assessments and providing assistance to physicians and other healthcare providers with questions regarding respiratory care. What the Registered Respiratory Therapist Will Do:

• Familiar with all respiratory therapeutics and their actions, expected results and possible side effects.

• Responsible for complying with all policies including those dealing with incomplete orders, medication of therapy, adverse reactions, automatic stop orders, infection control, patient restraints and safety regulations.

• P erform all respiratory and cardiac diagnostic studies on patients of all ages.

• M aintain accurate and complete medical records.

• D isinfect and sterilize equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Licensure by the State of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist.

• Regist ered by the National Board for Respiratory Care

• If Certified Respiratory Therapist ( CRT ) , then obtain RRT within 6 months of employment .

• Working knowledge of all aspects of Respiratory Care including diagnostics

• Current Certification in Basic Life Support, prefer to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support as well.
