Job summary

AdventHealth in Georgia is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) to support neonatal through geriatric patients. Responsibilities include ventilator management, arterial blood gas analysis, and collaborating with the care team.

The role requires an RRT, BLS, and at least 1 year of critical care experience. A sign-on bonus up to $20k is available for eligible candidates. This facility offers benefits from Day One and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Licenses: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• 1+ year of critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies per protocol.
• Initiate and monitor mechanical ventilators and monitor patient response.
• Assess arterial blood gases and other labs; collaborate with interdisciplinary team.

Job Description: Minimum Pay: $31/hr. Work Schedule: Full-Time, Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Up to $20k Sign-On Bonus for eligible candidates Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely. Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow. Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies. Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team. Responds to all Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed. Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol. Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed. Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning. Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure. Utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations per hospital needs.
