Novant Health seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) at Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC. The role is full-time with a 7am–7pm day shift in the Respiratory Care department.

The position requires an RCP license in the state and RRT credential, with opportunities for career growth, mentoring, and specialty training within a compassionate, team-based environment.

Qualificações

• Two-year Associate Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Current RCP licensure in appropriate state required; Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required.
• New graduates must obtain the RRT credential within 12 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Advocates for patients within the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritizes duties based on patient needs and acuity; ensures timely care interventions.
• Administers and evaluates therapies; transfers and transports patients.
• Evaluates patient needs and provides routine respiratory care (ABGs, bronchial hygiene); handles higher levels in critical care.
• Practices independently in Respiratory Care per state requirements and standards.
• CCU-specific: Ventilator management, code blue, airway management, blood gas interpretation.
• Documents care in line with hospital policy.

What You'll Do

• Acts as a patient advocate for the patient and their support system by incorporating education in the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels and ensures timely completion of care interventions, medical orders, etc.
• Administers and evaluates medication therapies, performs patient transfers and transports patients.
• Ability to evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate routine respiratory care such as ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy, etc., as well as perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations.
• Demonstrates independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care. Practices according to state requirements and standards.
• Critical Care Specific: Ventilator management, code blue, airway management, interpretation and intervention with blood gas analysis, use of all related protocols for patient care.
• Document care in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RCP licensure in appropriate state, required. Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential, required.
• Additional Skills/Requirements (required): New graduates of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program are required to obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential within twelve (12) months of their date of hire.
