Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthews, NC is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) to join our Respiratory Care team on a 7am–7pm day shift, full-time. You will assess patients, administer therapies, and coordinate with clinicians to deliver high‑quality care.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree (Bachelor preferred), current RCP licensure, and the RRT credential; new graduates must obtain the RRT within 12 months.

• 2 year / Associate degree required; 4 year / Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current licensure as RCP in appropriate state; RRT credential required.
• New graduates must obtain the RRT credential within 12 months of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Acts as a patient advocate and participates in interdisciplinary care planning.
• Prioritizes duties based on patient needs and acuity, ensuring timely interventions.
• Administers and evaluates therapies, including airway management and transport.
• Performs routine respiratory care and supports higher level care in critical settings.
• Documents care according to hospital policy and regulations.

What You'll Do

• Acts as a patient advocate for the patient and their support system by incorporating education in the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels and ensures timely completion of care interventions, medical orders, etc.
• Administers and evaluates medication therapies, performs patient transfers and transports patients.
• Ability to evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate routine respiratory care such as ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy, etc., as well as perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations.
• Demonstrates independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care. Practices according to state requirements and standards.
• Critical Care Specific: Ventilator management, code blue, airway management, interpretation and intervention with blood gas analysis, use of all related protocols for patient care.
• Document care in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RCP licensure in appropriate state, required. Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential, required.
• Additional Skills/Requirements (required): New graduates of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program are required to obtain the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential within twelve (12) months of their date of hire.
