Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a part-time registry role with a 12-hour night shift. The position involves providing comprehensive respiratory care, including assessment, treatment, and ventilator management across diverse patient populations at our Chicago area hospitals.

Required qualifications include an associate degree in respiratory care, IL licensure, CRT, and CPR/BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory care; bachelor's preferred.
• CPR/BLS - American Heart Association.
• Current IL state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) through NBRC.
• CRT credential and IL state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist required within 6 months of hire.
• NRP and PALS expected within 90 days of hire (completion required by 7/1/2025 for LUMC).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care, including assessment and treatment across patient populations.
• Manage ventilators and administer therapies per protocols.
• Lead/charge therapist responsibilities; coordinate workflow and support staff to ensure safe, quality care.

What you’ll do:

• This position provides comprehensive respiratory care, including assessment, treatment, andmanagement of patients across all patient populations. Specialized care for neonates andpediatrics will be limited to respiratory therapists who have completed the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and PALS certification. Responsibilities include administeringtherapies, managing ventilators, and performing diagnostic procedures while following establishedprotocols and best practices approved by the Medical Director. Functions as a lead/charge therapist,coordinating workflow and supporting staff to ensure quality and safe patient care.

What you’ll need for this job:

REQUIRED

• Associate's degree in respiratory care; bachelor's preferred
• CPR/BLS - American Heart Association
• Current IL state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) through NBRC
• (CRT credential and IL state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist required within 6 months of hire)
• Effective 07/01/2025 for LUMC -- Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced LifeSupport (PALS) is expected within 90 days of hiring.

PREFERRED

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• NPS credentialed (Neo-Peds Specialty) and ACCS

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $41.35 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
