Job summary

Loyola Medicine is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver comprehensive respiratory care across diverse patient populations. The role supports critical care teams within a premier academic health system and offers growth within a multi-hospital network.

Qualifications include an associate degree in respiratory care, NBRC credentials, and current Illinois licensure. You will work part-time, with rotating shifts and competitive shift differentials, in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory care or equivalent.
• Illinois RT license or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• CRT (NBRC) certification required; BLS at minimum.
• NRP and PALS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations.
• Administer treatments, manage ventilators, and perform diagnostics.
• Follow evidence-based protocols to optimize patient outcomes.
• Serve as lead/charge therapist to guide workflow and support team.

What You’ll Do

As a Respiratory Therapist with Loyola, you will:

• Deliver respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
• Administer treatments, manage ventilators, and perform diagnostics
• Follow evidence‑based protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Serve as a lead/charge therapist, guiding workflow and supporting team members

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in respiratory care
• Illinois RT license (or within 6 months)
• CRT (NBRC)
• BLS (AHA)
• NRP & PALS within 90 days (effective July 1, 2025)

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS
• NPS and/or ACCS credentials

RT 2 --

• Associate degree in respiratory care; Bachelor's preferred
• CPR/BLS - American Heart Association
• Current IL state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (or within 6 months of hire)
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) through NBRC (or within 6 months of hire)
• NRP & PALS within 90 days (effective July 1, 2025)

RT 3 --

• Associate degree in respiratory care; Bachelor's preferred
• 3 years of previous job-related experience
• CPR/BLS - American Heart Association
• Current IL state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through NBRC

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $41.35 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
