Expected pay for this position is $31.49 - $37.05/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.

This position also includes night shift differential of $4.00/hr and weekend differential of $3.25/hr.

Position Summary

The Respiratory Therapist works according to evidence-based policies and procedures, providing respiratory therapy to all patient populations as ordered by the prescribing physician. Responsibilities include administering medical gases, medications, airway clearance, mechanical ventilation, monitoring supplies and equipment, and applying theoretical knowledge to care for neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree and successful completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.

Experience

• Basic electronic medical record documentation skills.

Licensure/Certification

• BLS required; NRP after 6 months of hire.
• Credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license and NBRC credentials if credentialed after July 1, 2002, or must pass NBRC TMC and CSE exams.

Other Skills/Knowledge

• At SJMC Bloomington; obtain ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Licensure/Certification: BLS preferred for MSS.
