Expected pay for this position is $31.49 - $37.05/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

This position also includes a night shift differential of $4.00/hr and a weekend differential of $3.25/hr

Position Summary: The Respiratory Therapist works according to evidenced-based policies and procedures, providing respiratory therapy to all patient populations, demonstrating competence in respiratory skills, problem solving, and critical thinking appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, successful completion of respiratory therapy program from an accredited school.

• Must have basic electronic medical record documentation skills.

• BLS required, NRP after 6 months of hire. Must be a credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Must have a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license and current NBRC credentials if credentialed after July 1, 2002, or be a new graduate passing both the NBRC TMC and CSE exams. Proof of application for licensure must be made before orientation, and licensure must be obtained within six months of hire for new graduates.

Other Skills/Knowledge

• At SFMC Peoria, NICU therapists must have current NRP card.
• Transport therapists must complete agility, hearing, and helicopter safety training.
• Airway Managers must complete intubation orientation and maintain a current ACLS card.

Preferred Qualifications

• BLS preferred for MSS.
