Job summary

LCMC Health seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist for night shifts at West Jefferson Medical Center in Louisiana, delivering high-quality respiratory care and critical support to acutely ill patients. You will manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and collaborate with a vibrant care team.

Ideal candidates bring NBRC-registered credentials, state licensure, and current BLS/CPR; ACLS and PALS are preferred to navigate complex emergencies and pediatric needs.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist with current state credentials.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist as required by NBRC.
• Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA) to ensure immediate response skills.
• ACLS certification required to manage critical events.
• PALS certification for pediatric emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and adjust settings based on patient needs.
• Perform arterial punctures and assist with airway management.
• Support high-acuity situations like Code III responses.
• Assist with bronchoscopies and intubations.
• Deliver therapies (oxygen, aerosol, CPT, IPPB, incentive spirometry, etc.).
• Monitor equipment and ensure safe, effective operation.
• Educate patients and families to empower informed decisions.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize care.
