The role requires a specialty training program graduate with at least 2 years of related experience, and the ability to float between multiple hospital locations while working 12-hour shifts including days, nights, and weekends.

Role Overview

The Respiratory Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops care plans, and communicates with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

Administering therapies such as aerosolized medications, oxygen, and airway management; managing mechanical ventilators; providing patient and family education; assisting with emergency airway management and invasive monitoring; collecting arterial blood gases; supporting intra-hospital patient transport; and functioning as a shift coordinator.

They also assist with procedures like bronchoscopy, help with discharge planning, and serve as preceptors for students and new staff.

Qualifications & Skills

Requires a graduate of a specialty training program, with a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Must be able to float between multiple hospital locations, work 12-hour shifts, and handle both day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
