You will lead the new pulmonary program, assess and administer therapies, supervise technicians, ensure timely documentation, and maintain equipment while upholding high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in respiratory therapy from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Current Tennessee respiratory therapist license.
  • National Provider BLS or CPR certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the new pulmonary program, ensuring effective treatments and compliant documentation.
  • Assess patients and recommend appropriate respiratory therapy treatments.
  • Administer doctor-recommended respiratory therapy treatments.
  • Plan, prepare, and administer IPPB, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, and sputum inductions.
  • Perform diagnostic pulmonary and cardiac tests.
  • Inspect, test, maintain, and operate respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Respond to code blue emergencies, maintain airways, and perform CPR.
  • Instruct and supervise respiratory technicians.
  • Ensure patient care documentation is timely, legible, concise, and meets departmental standards.
  • Use resources and materials efficiently and safely.
  • Perform all duties promptly with competence and care.
  • Maintain a neat appearance and adhere to facility dress code policies.

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy
Tennessee Respiratory Therapist license
BLS/CPR certification
