Summary
The Respiratory Therapy Department at Moffitt Cancer Center specializes in the treatment of patients with a wide variety of diagnoses that also have related pulmonary diagnoses. Under the department’s scope of practice, we have responsibilities to evaluate and implement patient care modalities in critical care, floor care, and urgent care areas. The Respiratory Therapy Department provides ventilator care, bronchodilator and other aerosolized therapy, blood gas collection and analysis, and responds to medical emergencies throughout the facility among various other duties. We are a vital part of the healthcare team; providing support for disease management, ventilator and airway management, and patient education.
