A leading medical center is seeking a respiratory therapist to provide critical patient care, operate medical equipment, and ensure high standards of different respiratory therapies. Ideal candidates will be licensed and have at least two years of preferred experience in a clinical setting, able to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Education: Graduated from an AMA-accredited respiratory therapist program.
License: Registered with the State of Missouri and maintains a current license.
Credentials: Registered or registry-eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Experience: Preferably two years as a registered/registry-eligible therapist.
Patient Contact: Must have the knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.
Machine Operation: Basic computer skills; understanding of respiratory care equipment including ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, pulse oximetry, suction equipment, gas cylinders, regulators, and gauges.
Standing: Moderate amount for patient care and equipment handling.
Walking: Moderate amount for hospital rounds and patient teaching.
Lifting: Ability to push, pull, or move heavy equipment and assist with patient transfers.
Visual: Good eyesight for reading charts, drawing medications, recognizing patient distress, and reading monitors.
Hearing: Good hearing to respond to pages, codes, and communicate with team members and patients.
Speaking: Clear speech for effective communication with staff, patients, and visitors.
