Summary of Job Duties: The Radiation Therapist administers, simulates, and records radiation treatment setups as prescribed by a radiation oncologist. Under supervision, responsible for radiation therapy procedures, dose calculations, charting, and routine checks during treatment days, five days a week. Overtime and callback may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in radiation therapy plus 2 years of healthcare experience OR Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy
  • Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a radiation therapist and licensure with the Arkansas Department of Health
  • Current BLS certification or must obtain within 30 days of employment

Responsibilities include:

  • Positioning patients accurately and administering radiation doses as prescribed
  • Monitoring equipment and following safety principles
  • Reviewing prescriptions and patient charts
  • Maintaining records of dosages, settings, and reactions
  • Conducting treatment sessions independently under physician guidance
  • Inputting data and adjusting equipment controls
  • Observing and reassuring patients, reporting reactions
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
