HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support patient care across emergency, critical care and acute settings. You will deliver therapy, manage ventilation, and collaborate with the care team to ensure optimal outcomes.

This PRN role offers exposure to advanced respiratory technology, mentorship, and a stable, supportive work environment focused on patient health and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Neonate Resuscitate within 6 months of start date
• RT certification (RRT/RCP) state
• ACLS/BCLS/PALS certifications within specified times

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and determine need for interventions.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen support and aerosolized medications.
• Manage artificial airways and invasive/noninvasive ventilation.
• Educate patients and families; collaborate with physicians and nurses.
• Maintain and sterilize respiratory equipment; follow infection-prevention standards.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Respiratory Therapist,you’llplay an essential role in guiding patients through both routine care and critical moments.You’llperform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures while managing invasive and noninvasive ventilation across a variety of care settings.You’llhave access to advanced respiratory technology, mentorship from experienced RT leaders, and the support of a dependable, collaborative team that will set you up for success and ongoing professional growth. Your role will include:

• Assessing respiratory statusby performing focused exams, interpreting breath sounds and airway patency, anddeterminingthe need for respiratory interventions.
• Deliveringevidence-based therapyby providing oxygen support, aerosolized medications, airway clearance techniques, and other treatments across emergency, critical care, and acute settings.
• Managing ventilation and airwaysbyassistingwith artificial airway placement,initiatingand adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation,monitoringpatientresponses, and responding quickly to clinical changes or emergencies.
• Supporting patients and the care teamby educating patients and families, serving as a clinical resource, partnering with physicians and nurses, and helping stabilize newborns during deliveries when needed.
• Maintainingequipment and safetyby setting up,operating, and cleaning respiratory equipment; ensuring readiness and preventive maintenance; transporting ventilated patients safely; and following all infection-prevention standards.

What qualifications you will need:

• Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
• Associate Degree
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
