Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, performing diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients on mechanical ventilation.

What You Will Do

• Perform and document patient assessments, conduct diagnostic procedures
• Administer therapies including oxygen, aerosols, and chest physiotherapy
• Assist with artificial airway placement, initiate and monitor mechanical ventilation
• Monitor patient response, notify providers, and intervene as needed
• Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients
• Respond to emergencies, ensuring airway and ventilation during resuscitation

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of start
• RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Texas
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by NBRC
• Minimum one year of acute care respiratory care experience
• Credentialed as RRT or RPFT by NBRC if hired after 4/1/2015
