Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, performing diagnostic tests, therapeutic procedures, and monitoring patients on mechanical ventilation.

What You Will Do in This Role

• Perform and document patient assessments and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with artificial airway placement and manage mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patient responses and intervene as necessary.
• Transport ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergencies ensuring airway and ventilation support during resuscitation.

Qualifications Needed

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
• RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP).
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by NBRC.
• Minimum of one year of respiratory care experience in an acute care setting.
• Credentialed as RRT or RPFT by NBRC if hired after 4/1/2015.
