Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, performs diagnostic tests, and monitors patients on mechanical ventilation.

What You Will Do

• Perform and document patient assessments
• Administer respiratory therapies
• Assist with airway placement and manage mechanical ventilation
• Monitor responses and intervene as needed
• Transport ventilator-dependent patients
• Respond to emergencies and ensure airway and ventilation safety

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start
• RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner certification
• License by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by NBRC
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care setting
• If hired after 4/1/2015, credentialed as RRT or RPFT by NBRC upon hire
