Job summary

LMH Health in Kansas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide cardiopulmonary care across the emergency room, intensive care units and general hospital areas. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses and staff to deliver respiratory care and life support.

The role includes managing ventilators, assisting with labor and delivery as needed, and responding to Code Blue events while adhering to policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Nationally Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
• Current BLS certification.
• Preferred: ACLS, PALS and NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with physicians, nurses and other associates to develop a plan of care for patients with acute and/or chronic cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Effectively and efficiently diagnoses and administers respiratory therapy modalities and medications for breathing disorders.
• Interviews patients, performs chest exams and analyzes tissue specimens.
• Manages ventilators and artificial airway devices for patients who can’t breathe normally on their own.
• Trained in labor and delivery and participates in C‑sections and normal deliveries as needed.
• Plays a prominent role in responding to Code Blue or other urgent calls for care.
• Performs care according to the population served on the unit as referenced in the Administrative, Scope of Services Policy.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Education

Nationally Registered Respiratory Therapist

Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts

Current BLS certification

ACLS, PALS and NRP certification (preferred)

JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Respiratory Therapist treats people with disorders affecting the cardiopulmonary system such as asthma, emphysema, pneumonia, cardiovascular disorders and trauma. This position provides care and life support to patients in the emergency room, intensive care units and general hospital areas as well as specialty areas.
