Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, including diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, and monitors patients on invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.

What you will do in this role:

  • Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate respiratory needs and responses.
  • Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen, aerosols, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with artificial airway placement. Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient responses, notify providers, and intervene as needed.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
  • Respond to emergencies, ensuring airway integrity and ventilation during resuscitation.
Qualifications needed:
  • Neonate Resuscitation certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Certification as RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner, CRTT, or LCRT.
  • State Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist or Technician.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • PALS certification within 30 days of employment.
