The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care in critical settings, including ventilator management, airway procedures, and patient assessments. They administer medications, interpret waveforms, and educate patients, families, and staff, often working independently in complex cases. Responsibilities include collaborating with healthcare teams, ensuring patient safety, and promoting evidence-based practices. The role involves mentoring new employees and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with science coursework
• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s preferred
• 0-2 years clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care
• Valid respiratory therapy license and certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, including instructor and provisional statuses
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills
