Job summary

Select Medical in Milwaukee is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to support critically ill patients at Milwaukee St. Francis. This part-time, days role involves two twelve-hour shifts weekly with rotating weekends, and a $7,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule is 6:30 am–7:00 pm, with comprehensive orientation and opportunities for advancement. The RT will manage ventilators, airway maintenance, and pulmonary assessments while collaborating with the care team to optimize outcomes and patient recovery.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credential NBRC or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation: transcript/diploma or GED.
• BLS certification by start date.
• Current state licensure required.
• ACLS required upon hire.
• 1 year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and using RT protocols to liberate from ventilation and adjust treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to promote outcomes.
• Provide respiratory care to critically ill/complex patients.
• Perform bronchoscopies.
• Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Educate and counsel patients and families.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred qualifications:

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
