Job Description: Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The role involves examining patients with breathing-related conditions, conducting diagnostic testing, and collaborating with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans. The therapist will perform physiotherapy, teach medication use, and respond to emergency situations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Measuring lung capacity and analyzing blood samples using blood gas analyzers.
  • Delivering and assessing responses to prescribed therapies, monitoring patient conditions, and documenting outcomes.
  • Evaluating and updating respiratory care policies based on current research and patient outcomes.
  • Responding to emergencies, assessing patient needs, and providing appropriate treatment.
  • Educating patients and families about illnesses and available community resources.
  • Managing respiratory care supplies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring proper sterilization and calibration.

Minimum Education: Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and computer proficiency.

Certifications: BLS certification (current upon hire), ACLS & PALS (within 12 months if not current), NRP (within 12 months if not current). Must hold a Tennessee license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with ABG endorsement or be eligible for temporary licensure.

Work Experience: At least 6 months of Respiratory Care experience preferred.
