Job summary

Lincare is seeking a Healthcare Equipment Specialist to perform timely setups of ventilators, monitors, CPAP units and other oxygen equipment in patients' homes. This role requires safe vehicle operation and adherence to safety policies.

Responsibilities include patient education, thorough assessments, maintaining records, and on-call coverage evenings and weekends. Strong communication, computer literacy, and valid state licenses are essential, with experience in home healthcare preferred.

Qualifications

• Familiar with equipment and services in home healthcare.
• Two years minimum in home healthcare is preferred.
• Three years minimum in home healthcare with potential training responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education as part of care according to policy.
• Perform complete and professional patient assessments.
• Maintain knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques.
• Follow Safety & Regulatory Manual policies (OSHA, DOT, FDA).
• Represent Lincare in professional manner in patient care and reporting.
• Manage prescription collection and patient records.
• Be available for on-call shifts evenings/weekends.

This employee performs equipment setups in a timely and professional manner.

• Generally responsible for the setup of highlytechnical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units
  • Also responsible for providing technicalassistance with equipment
  • Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need andLincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures
• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts
• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA(includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning
• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of writtenreports
• Facilitates prescription collection
• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis
  • Frequency is determined by the center size andthe number of employees available to share in the responsibility
  • Must respond in a timely manner
• Offering $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

Work Experience

• Level 1 - Familiar with equipment and services provided in the home healthcaresetting, or other patient care, Required
• Level 2 - Minimum of two years in home healthcare, Required
• Level 3 - Minimum of three years in home healthcare
  • May be involvedin training of other Healthcare Specialists, Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• excellent human relations to interface with doctors, other referral sources, andpatients
• computer literate
• clinician authorized within scope of practice (as established by applicable state lawor if none, by the applicable national board) to provide all patient care services offered by Lincarefrom time to time
• Subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may alsobe qualified for this position
  • If applicable, based on the requirements of state, in addition to avalid state license, current National Board of Respiratory Care Credentials may also be required for
    CRTs and RRTs.
  • Subject to State requirements and management approval, on an exception basis,
    a person may be hired that does not meet all the above certifications and training, but practices respiratory therapy as authorized by applicable state law

Licenses and Certifications

• Must have completed all training/educationrequired to obtain requisite certification,registration, and/or license described below,Required
• Must remain certified, registered, orlicensed by the applicable state and/or
  national board governing clinicalpractice or as otherwise permitted by law
• In all states, CRTs and RRTs are qualifiedfor this position,Required
