Job summary

Lincare Holdings is seeking a skilled Home Medical Equipment Technician to perform timely setups of ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units in patients' homes. You will also provide technical assistance, educate patients, and maintain accurate records according to policy.

The role requires driving to client sites with a valid license, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with clinicians to ensure high-quality care and compliance across regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have completed training to obtain required certification, registration, and/or license described below.
• CRTs and RRTs are qualified for this position.
• Home healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up highly technical home medical equipment (ventilators, monitors, CPAP units) in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide technical assistance with equipment and educate patients.
• Maintain patient records and perform complete patient assessments in accordance with policy.

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need andLincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  
  
  
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
  
  
  
  


• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures


• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts


• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA(includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning


• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of writtenreports


• Facilitates prescription collection


• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards


• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis

Work Experience

• Level 1 - Familiar with equipment and services provided in the home healthcaresetting, or other patient care, Required


• Level 2 - Minimum of two years in home healthcare, Required


• Level 3 - Minimum of three years in home healthcare

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Subject to state law/regulation, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, paramedics, EMTs, and other clinicians may also be qualified for this position
  
  
  
  • If applicable, based on the requirements of state, in addition to avalid state license, current National Board of Respiratory Care Credentials may also be required for
    CRTs and RRTs.
  
  
  • Subject to State requirements and management approval, on an exception basis,
    a person may be hired that does not meet all the above certifications and training, but practices respiratory therapy as authorized by applicable state law
