Job summary

Lincare Holdings is seeking a Healthcare Specialist to perform equipment setups in the home care setting. You will install and service high-technology equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and CPAP units, while delivering patient education and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, maintaining records, and on-call shifts evenings and weekends as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Must have completed training to obtain requisite certification, registration, and/or license.
• CRTs and RRTs may be required for certain states.
• State licenses/certifications may be required depending on state requirements.
• Minimum home healthcare experience: Level 2 – 2 years; Level 3 – 3 years with potential training responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient education as part of the care activity, often in patients' homes.
• Perform complete and professional patient assessments per Lincare policies.
• Maintain current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and related concepts.
• Follow Safety & Regulatory Manual policies (OSHA, DOT, FDA, Emergency Planning).
• Represent Lincare with professional appearance and patient care documentation.

  • Incumbent may perform setup of all types of oxygen equipment as well
  
  
  
  

JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need andLincare policy, frequently in patients' homes
  
  
  
  • Requires use of a personal vehicle with a valid driver's license
  
  
  
  


• Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures


• Maintains current knowledge of respiratory homecare techniques and relevant respiratory therapy concepts


• Follows applicable policies and procedures of the Safety & Regulatory Manual regarding General Safety, OSHA(includes the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment), DOT (driving safety), FDA, and Emergency Planning


• Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of writtenreports


• Facilitates prescription collection


• Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards


• Works on-call evenings and weekends on an as scheduled basis

Work Experience

• Level 1 - Familiar with equipment and services provided in the home healthcaresetting, or other patient care, Required

  • If applicable, based on the requirements of state, in addition to avalid state license, current National Board of Respiratory Care Credentials may also be required for
    CRTs and RRTs.
  
  
  • Subject to State requirements and management approval, on an exception basis,
    a person may be hired that does not meet all the above certifications and training, but practices respiratory therapy as authorized by applicable state law
