Overview and Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for providing clinical patient services and support within the location.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assumes on-call responsibilities for phone consultations during non-business hours as outlined by Rotech’s policy
• Conducts patient assessment per Rotech’s policy and procedure and the physician’s order
• Maintains a complete listing of all current respiratory patients
• Maintains documentation of all services provided and all work performed
• Monitors ongoing function of highly technical respiratory equipment
• Provides in-home visits to patients
• Provides initial and ongoing phone contacts with all respiratory patients
• Provides patient education as applicable
• Sets up all highly technical respiratory equipment
• Supports orientation and training of other personnel at the direction of the Manager
• In some locations, RTs need to be on call and drive a company vehicle
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
• Deal politely with patients and referral sources
• Manage several tasks at once
• Performs other duties as assigned

Travel

• Some travel via automobile required to patient’s home and meetings

Qualifications

Employment is contingent on background investigation, drug screen (when applicable), and valid driver’s license with a clean record (when applicable).

Required Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Credentials as a respiratory therapist (RRT or CRT) are preferred; other medical credentials may be acceptable depending on state laws
• Must be licensed in the primary state of residence and possibly in neighboring states

Preferred Education and/or Experience

• Completion of an accredited respiratory care program
• Home respiratory care experience
• Degree in respiratory therapy or related science
• One year of related work experience
