Corewell Health is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. The role supports patient breathing, collaborates with a skilled clinical team, and ensures accurate documentation and adherence to protocols.

The position requires an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor's preferred), licensure in Michigan, NBRC credentials, and BLS/ACLS completion within 90 days. RT students and graduates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy.
• Preferred Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy.
• 2 years of relevant experience pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical education required.
• LIC-Respiratory Therapist – STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
• CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry – NBRC Upon Hire required.
• CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – AHA 90 days required.
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA 90 days required Or ARC 90 days required.
• Ideal candidate will be a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• RT Students, CRTs, and RRTs may apply.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs and makes appropriate recommendations per policy. Documents according to standards.
• Performs advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
• Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe.
• Maintains competency in areas of accountability.
• Accurate and timely completion of documentation and billing.
• Facilitates transition to referral services and provides education to patients and families on respiratory issues.
• Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students.
