Job summary

Corewell Health, at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a part-time night shift (6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.), 24 hours per week. The role includes respiratory care evaluation, procedures, and education for patients and families.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy with 2+ years of experience, and licensure/registries such as NBRC, NRP, ACLS, and BLS. A Registered Respiratory Therapist is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent.
• Licensure/registry requirements must be met upon hire.
• Ideal candidate is a Registered Respiratory Therapist or RRT.
• RT Students, CRTs, and/or RRTs may apply.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations; document per policy and standards.
• Provide advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
• Complete and document education and competencies within designated timeframe.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation and billing.
• Facilitate transitions to referral services and educate patients and families.
• Instruct and train other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students.
