Job summary

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the 3rd shift (nights) on a full-time basis. The role requires an associate degree in respiratory care and state licensure as an RCP, with NBRC credentials (RRT preferred or CRT eligible).

Position offers loan forgiveness and tuition reimbursement up to $20K, a sign-on bonus of $12,500, and growth opportunities through a clinical ladder program. Expect 36 hours per week with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with at least an associate degree.
• Licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the practicing state.
• Active NBRC credential (RRT) within 12 months or CRT prior to 2023.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilize respiratory therapy processes for patient assessment including pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, hemodynamic values, and blood gas analysis.
• Operate ventilators in critical and non-ICU settings and assist physicians with bedside procedures.
• Provide prescribed medications and therapies per orders.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment and ensure proper function.
• Educate patients on therapy purpose, technique, and self-care.
• Collaborate with other departments to support patient care and education.
• Follow policies and maintain high safety and quality standards.
• Demonstrate effective communication and handoffs to ensure continuity of care.
