Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with an associate degree.
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the practicing state.
- NBRC RRT or CRT credential required within the specified timeframe.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients using pulmonary diagnostics and related data to support care decisions.
- Operate ventilators and assist physicians during bedside procedures.
- Provide prescribed respiratory therapies and monitor patient response.
- Educate patients on therapy purpose and self-care strategies.
- Collaborate with departments to manage patient care and safety.
