Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene and airway maintenance. You will be proficient in respiratory assessment and treatment for adults and neonates.

The RRT works under indirect supervision of the medical director, adhering to departmental policies. Texas license, NBRC registration, and BLS/ACLS are required. 1-year SLA.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Texas license in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• NBRC registration is required.
• Within 1 year of hire, obtain NRP and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
• Minimum 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen, aerosols, humidity therapy and airway maintenance.
• Administers ABG, PFTs, and documents cardiopulmonary procedures.
• Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT results to inform care.
• Operates, maintains and troubleshoots respiratory equipment.
• Follows infection control, safety and quality assurance policies.
• Contributes to patient assessment and care planning under supervision.
