Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist. The position offers a $30.40 minimum hiring rate with up to $5.50 shift differential for evening, night, and weekend shifts, plus $15,000 hiring incentive and $7,500 relocation assistance for eligible individuals.

Responsibilities include patient respiratory assessments, developing care plans, operating ventilators, administering therapies, and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Assess patient respiratory care needs and plan treatment modalities.
• Perform and document thorough patient assessments.
• Establish appropriate care plans and communicate with the care team.
• Administer aerosolized meds, airway management, and oxygen therapy per protocol.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient respiratory care needs using data to plan, organize, perform and evaluate treatments.
• Document thorough patient assessments.
• Communicate with the patient care team.
• Perform respiratory therapies and monitor artificial airways.
• Initiate and manage ventilators per protocol.
• Educate patients and families on disease management.
• Assist in intra-hospital transport of ventilated patients.
• Maintain regulatory and safety standards.
• Collect arterial blood gases and use point-of-care analyzers.
