Job summary

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Long Island, NY, a 460-bed facility, seeks Respiratory Therapists to join full-time evening/night shifts. The center offers short-term rehab, long-term skilled nursing, home care, adult day health, and memory care on its Commack campus.

The role requires NYS Respiratory Therapist licensing and RRT registration is preferred; 1–3 years' vent experience is ideal. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the NYS Department of Education as a Respiratory Therapist and Registered (RRT) preferred.
• 1–3 years of previous experience with mechanical ventilation and weaning procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions within the scope of respiratory care and communicate recommendations to the physician.
• Provide respiratory care to residents following physician orders and clinical procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of dementia population and related behaviors and respond to residents in pain appropriately.
• Provide respiratory modalities to patients with increased chronic or acute respiratory difficulty as ordered by physicians.
