Job summary

Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Commack, NY is seeking full-time Respiratory Therapists to join our evening/night shift team. Shifts are 12 hours with rotating weekends; sign-on bonus of $10,000 for eligible candidates.

Candidates must be licensed by NYS as a Respiratory Therapist; RRT preferred; 1-3 years of experience with ventilation and weaning is preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities to advance your career.

Qualifications

• Licensed by NYS Department of Education as Respiratory Therapist
• Registered (RRT) preferred by NBRC
• 1–3 years experience with mechanical ventilation and weaning preferred

Responsibilities

• Make decisions within the scope of respiratory care and communicate recommendations to the physician
• Provide respiratory care to all residents per physician orders
• Recognize dementia-related behaviors and respond appropriately
• Assess pain and take actions to relieve it
• Provide modalities for respiratory support as ordered by physicians
