What we offer:
General Summary: Respiratory Therapists are healthcare professionals who administer respiratory care based on physician prescriptions. Their responsibilities include diagnostic evaluation (such as obtaining and analyzing physiological specimens, interpreting physiologic data, performing tests and studies of the cardiopulmonary system, and neuropsychological studies), management, education, rehabilitation, and patient care for those with cardio-pulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities. The practice involves applying technology and treatment protocols across care sites, including but not limited to the application and monitoring of medical gases (excluding anesthetic gases), environmental control systems, mechanical ventilatory support, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, pharmacological agents related to respiratory procedures, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and hemodynamic cardiovascular support.
Located in Largo, in the heart of Prince George’s County, our new state-of-the-art regional medical center (UM Capital Region Medical Center) aims to improve access to primary and ambulatory care services and serve as a tertiary care center for critically ill patients. Our new facility will also enable us to expand our offerings as a community partner to help improve the health of Prince George’s County residents.
