Job summary

The successful candidate will hold CRT certification (RRT preferred), a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license, and BLS. Experience in high-acuity critical care is preferred, with strong communication across age groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to physicians and staff; ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Document accurately and participate in continuing education.
• Support departmental operations, promote safety, and contribute to quality care and customer service.
• Mentor and support less experienced staff; uphold organizational standards.

Role Overview:

Responsible for recommending and administering both basic and advanced respiratory therapies, including arterial blood gases, neonatal procedures, trauma care, and ventilator transports for patients with respiratory conditions in adult and neonatal critical care units.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory procedures, administer medical gases, medications, and aerosols, and provide patient education.
• Follow physician orders, evaluate treatments, and adjust as needed.
• Conduct patient assessments, interpret arterial blood gases, pulmonary function tests, and chest x-rays.
• Offer expert advice to physicians and staff, ensuring safe and effective care.
• Communicate effectively, document accurately, and participate in continuing education.
• Support departmental operations, promote safety, and contribute to quality care and customer service.
• Mentor and support less experienced staff, demonstrate professional growth, and uphold organizational standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT); RRT preferred.
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License and Basic Life Support certification.
• 2+ years of high-acuity, critical care experience preferred.
• Effective communication, physical ability to perform procedures, and knowledge of patient growth and development across all age groups.
