Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. The role includes administering therapeutic procedures, documenting outcomes, and performing diagnostic tests.

The position requires graduation from an approved respiratory therapy program, PA licensure or TPP, CRT certification, and NBRC credentialing. Two years of hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
  • PA licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
  • CRT certification required.
  • NBRC certification required prior to expiration of TPP.
  • RRT preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
  • Completes documentation to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness (e.g. charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education). (20%)
  • Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
  • Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program
  • Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
  • Preferred Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT
  • Two years’ experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting

  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
