Job summary

Highmark Health’s Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation of patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

Responsibilities include administering therapeutic respiratory procedures, documenting patient care, performing diagnostic procedures, and educating patients and staff; PA licensure or temporary permit is required, CRT certification, and two years’ hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required prior to expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Preferred Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT).
• Two years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Preferred Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT.
• Two years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.

• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
