Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess, treat, and evaluate patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

The role administers therapies, documents outcomes, and performs diagnostic procedures while educating patients and team members; two years hospital experience preferred and PA licensure or TPP required.

• Requires completion of an approved respiratory therapy program (minimum).
• PA licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or TPP.
• CRT certification required prior to TPP expiration.
• RRT is preferred but not required.
• Minimum two years' hospital experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine.

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures per hospital policies (55%).
• Completes required documentation to measure and monitor department effectiveness (e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, education) (20%).
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures per department policies (20%).
• Provides instruction to patients and healthcare team as needed (5%).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Preferred Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT.
• Two years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.

• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
