Job summary

UT Health Tyler is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for an evening shift PRN role in the NICU. The position involves providing specialized respiratory care to neonates and critically ill patients within a Level III NICU in Tyler, TX.

Under supervision, you will contribute to education, quality improvement, and leadership activities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from COARC accredited respiratory care program.
• Licensed practitioner by the State of Texas Medical Board.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist with NBRC.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire/transfer.
• ACLS required.
• NRP within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care to those with acute and chronic respiratory problems under supervision.
• Performs general therapy, critical care, education, processing control, pulmonary services research, and leadership duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Respiratory Care Supervisor and according to specific instructions and established departmental policies and procedures, provides patient care to those suffering from acute and chronic respiratory problems. Job duties and responsibilities are related to General Therapy, Critical Care, Education, Processing Control, Pulmonary Services Research, and Leadership.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduate from COARC accredited respiratory care program.
• Licensed practitioner by the State of Texas Medical Board.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire.
