Job summary

St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in the respiratory department, understanding equipment, indications, contraindications, and physiological effects on patients.

The role requires NBRC credential, LA licensure, and BLS/ALS. NICU/PICU experience and NRP/PALS are highly preferred. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• CoARC approved school in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Current NBRC credential as an RRT or CRT.
• Louisiana license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS/ALS certifications through ILCOR courses (e.g., AHA, Red Cross).
• NRP and PALS certifications; NICU/PICU experience preferred.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures in the respiratory department with understanding of equipment, indications, contraindications, and patient physiological effects.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to deliver patient-centered respiratory care.

Education

CoARC approved school of Respiratory Therapy/Cardiopulmonary Science

Registered or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)

Louisiana licensed Respiratory Therapist

BLS and ALS through ILCOR programs

NRP and PALS preferred (NICU/PICU)
