Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Care professional responsible for delivering respiratory care services to patients in a multidisciplinary team. You will evaluate patient outcomes, provide explanations of respiratory disease processes, and plan, implement and assess care aligned with physician orders.

The role includes leading workflow, assisting with staff orientation, and supporting daily department operations while ensuring communication with medical and nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in respiratory care or related field.
• RRT certification and RCP State of Illinois license; CPR training.
• NRP-MHC certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient outcomes and adjusts plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
• Explains respiratory disease processes and interventions to patients and families and ensures understanding.
• Accepts reassignment to other units when necessary to cover staffing needs.
• Shares clinical knowledge with staff and students; acts as a role model for practice.
• Plans, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of respiratory care.
• Coordinates with physicians and nursing staff; leads workflow and daily operations.
