Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient outcomes and makes changes in plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
• Provides explanations to patients and families and ensures understanding of respiratory disease processes and interventions.
• Accepts reassignment to other units when necessary.
• Shares clinical knowledge with staff and students; acts as a role model for clinical practice.
• Performs preceptor duties for staff and students.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of respiratory care.
• Provides respiratory care as ordered by physician; communicates with medical and nursing staff.
• Leads workflow to utilize personnel efficiently; assists with orientation of new employees/students; supports daily operations of the department.
